Trained as a Topiary Artist since a young child, he is known on social media as “Gibby Siz” for his quick and one-of-a-kind topiary designs with trimmers delicately forming before your eyes from each hand. Michael will lead an in-person Topiary demonstration to be held in the historic Anne Spencer Garden. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Topiary, receive tips on how to make their own, and witness a live demonstration to a topiary to be raffled off to a lucky winner!  Topiary Tips: The Gibson Method with Mike Gibson, Topiary Artist

Dive into the world of topiary and learn from topiary master Mike Gibson who will teach you about the art of topiary, his unique style and technique, and how to create a topiary from an existing shrub. Self-taught topiary artist Mike Gibson creates imaginative whimsical sculptures out of ordinary bushes that help beautify any space. He has been a featured contestant on HGTV and the reality tv show Clipped, and most recently was the Topiary artist-in-residence at the famed Pearl Fryer Topiary Garden in Bishopville, SC. Mike is currently the artist-in-residence at the Ernest A. Finney, Jr. Cultural Arts.

Proceeds from your ticket will benefit the construction of the new education center at the Anne Spencer Museum, Pop’s Chicken House, as well as the continued preservation of the Anne Spencer Garden.
